Ginger Genes

I have a love hate relationship with jeans. America loves them. I hate them. So imagine my delight when the Kardashians announced that their line of denim had officially arrived at Sears. I think it may have been the same week as Sears announced they were on the verge of  bankruptcy but I doubt one had anything to do with the other. Anyway, finally people who understand what America wants in their jeans. People so in touch with the everyday person that they can't help but be spot on with their clothing line. These are the three jeans that the Kardashian Kollection for Sears has in store for us.

The Kim Jean-A sexy, low cut, straight leg jean.
The Khloe Jean-A tall curvy, high rise, boot cut jean.
The Kourtney Jean-A gorgeous skinny leg jean.

Ok, I see what you are trying to do here, Kardashians, take your 3 different body types and provide a jean that compliments and celebrates the differences. I applaud that and I don't want to cause trouble but I'm not sure you are going to able to compete with my denim line, Ginger Genes (pronounced "jeans", the name works on so many levels).

The  Preg"not" Ginger Gene-Do you ever find yourself looking longingly at clothing in the Maternity section at Target. Picturing how easy and comfortable life would be with flowy tops, elastic waistbands and stretchy front panels and then being resentful that just because you aren't pregnant you will never be able to experience that kind of joy. Well, wait no longer America, Ginger Genes presents the Preg"not" Jean all the comforts of a pregnancy jean but without the baby. Not sold in the maternity section.

The Reunion Ginger Gene-For those occasions that you need to look your best and create jealousy in other women wear the Reunion Gene. For your 20 year class reunion, a work party, or a trip to a state fair, nothing says "Lookin' sexy" like this jean. Its over sized rear pockets make any butt look small, the dark denim is slimming, and the stretch fabric forgives even the slightest over-indulgence. This low rise trouser says it all, but most importantly it says, "I look better than you"....literally.....it's stitched down the side of the right pant leg.

The Ginger Chaps-Want the illusion of wearing denim but without have to commit 100%? The denim chap is a perfect solution. Why should cowboys have all the comfort? Works best when worn over sweatpants.

Coming soon to a store near you........now accepting pre-orders.

People's Choice Awards

It's awards season and you know what that means! I will be handing out my Best Dressed and Worst Dressed Awards for each of the awards shows. Yes, its true, I have no fashion training and yes, my comments may be pedestrian and way off base, but my eyes like what they like and hate what they hate.

People's Choice Awards
(I apologize in the delay but I had no idea this was on Wednesday. In other news Top Chef's Restaurant Wars was riveting!)

What I Liked
Not much really.

Ginnifer Goodwin
Except for church bells for sleeves, I loved the color, the fit, the make-up and especially the hair.

Faith Hill
I love high necks and halter style tops. She looks great.

Kaley Cucoa
I believe she was the host of the show and I'm sure she had several changes but I thought the color went well with her skin tone and I think the dress had the right amount of embellishment although I might have pulled her hair back.

Julianne Hough
Love the color. This fits perfectly. The shoes are great. Big flowy hair-yes, yes, a million times yes! Only criticism is that I think she dates Ryan Seacrest.

Explain to Me Why I Like This
(New Category)

Kelly Osbourne
Each award show there is always one or two dresses that everyone hates but that I love and I don't know why. I love this. I love the top, I love the long skirt, I love that stripe down the front. Although I don't like the hair color (too grey) I love the style. Go figure.

What I Didn't Like
(Evidently, a lot)

Lucy Hale
WTF?

Vanessa Hudgens
Too cob webb-y.

Jennifer Lawrence
It's weird, I was wearing this same dress yesterday while I was running errands and the people at Wal-Mart and Jiffy Lube didn't care for it either. At least that's what their stares conveyed.

Carly Chaikin
No, no, no, no

Jennifer Morrison
A plant from the 1970's  called, its wants its macrame hanger back.

Tracy Gold
I love muscular women and its obvs that she has been working out, but I would rather see her in a cap sleeve (go ahead and roll your eyes) and a little more length on the dress and/or something that would elongate her.

Alyson Hannigan
Ok, this one is hard. I love redheads in red-although I never do and probably never will. This doesn't work for me: the color, the hair, the make up, the pattern on the dress. I don't like any of it. This makes her look much older than she is and I find it uninspired.

Oh, what was I wearing for the People's Choice Awards?
I was stunning in my TJMaxx Jeans with back pocket embellishment, button down white JCrew oxford with 3/4 sleeve, blue and white striped Gap T over the top and Nike Flip Flops. Make-up was minimal with mascara and bronzer. Hair was big, red and fabulous, as always.

The Emmy's-Lookin' Good!

I know many of you turn to me for my fashion insight.** Without further adieu, here are my favorite and least favorite looks from last night's Emmy Awards.

Favorites

#5) Padma Lakshmi
Not a fan of the hair but she just looks so shiny and glittery...and that I'm a fan of!

 #4) Sofia Vergara
I may be biased as Sophia and I look so much alike...... the dark skin, the spicy Latin personality, the sexy accent, the curves. I have this dress and look equally as stunning.

#3) Lena Headey
I'm sorry, I like this.
ps. Who is she? I have no idea.

#2) Christine Baranski
The camera panned from Charlie Sheen presenting to Christine Baranski in the audience,  it may have  been my eyes thanking me for not making me look at Charlie Sheen. Needless to say, when I looked at this dress again today without first viewing Charlie Sheen, I still find it very sophisticated and classy.

#1) Aubrey Plaza
Love, Love, Love

Undecided

Jayma Mays
One one hand, I like birthday cake. On the other hand, it looks like birthday cake.

Not So Favorite

#5) Katie Holmes
No joke, I wore my hair exactly like that yesterday and it looked much better with a V-Neck T from the Gap and JCrew Cargo Pants. Plus, I don't like the dress.

#4) Christina Hendricks
She's a gorgeous red head, but honestly, her boobs scare me.

#3) Olivia Munn
I want to like this dress because I love the color green. But the dress is preventing me from liking it.

#2) Lea Michele
Too shoulder paddy.

#1) Gwynth Paltrow
I don't understand anything about this dress except that it makes my eyes hurt.
